“All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring; renewed shall be the blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.”    • J.R.R. Tolkien

YOUR DESTINY is what this poem is about.
Tolkien is referring to Aragorn in the Trilogy of the Rings but the same principles are true of each of us.

If Aragorn would accept the challenges and dangers that lie before him, he would become king.

Aragorn was reluctant because there was no guarantee he would become what was predicted. He was required to choose, to embrace, and engage his destiny by deciding to become something greater -- Aragorn was compelled to act in faith if he was to become king — if he was to take his rightful place in the world. The same is true of you and I.

Your destiny will be changed as you place your trust in Christ.
It takes real courage to walk with God through life, difficulties and uncertain times, but walking with God will ensure that you become something much more wonderful than you are now. The results of trusting in Jesus Christ will outshine everything you could ever choose or imagine in this life. This is exactly what Christ himself promised when he offered us eternal life.

Following Christ, along with those of similar faith, transforms us into the person God intends. You may be crownless today, but one day the “Emperor-beyond-the-sea” will give to you your own crown too. You have a destiny with a bright future, should you choose to receive it.

Know this; before the beginning of time itself, your loving Heavenly Father has ordained good things for you. At Emmanuel, we help you find His path for your life. Your Lord has your best interest at heart. Through Him, you will discover your best future.
